Yamashita Squish 7-2

The Yamashita Squish 7-2 is the upgraded version of the highly successful Oppai 7-2 squid jig, engineered in Japan for maximum performance in Tataki squid fishing. Combining innovative technology with an ultra-realistic soft body, it is designed to increase hook-up rates when targeting squid and cuttlefish.

Its soft silicone body mimics the natural texture of a small baitfish. Since squid first seize their prey with their tentacles, the realistic feel encourages them to hold onto the lure longer, giving anglers more time for a successful hook-up.

The range includes 11 carefully selected color patterns, divided into two performance categories:

• Keimura (UV) colors reflect ultraviolet light without using phosphorescent materials, making them highly effective during daylight hours or under moonlight.
• Glow colors (Green Glow and Pink Glow) produce intense phosphorescent illumination, ideal for deep water, low-light conditions, and night fishing.

Another innovative feature is Yamashita's exclusive Tacty Warm Thermal Jacket, a special fabric that converts light into heat, keeping the lure approximately 0.5–1°C warmer than the surrounding water. This subtle temperature difference creates a more natural target and helps trigger additional squid strikes.

Designed specifically for the Tataki technique, the Yamashita Squish 7-2 performs best when multiple lures are rigged together, allowing anglers to effectively cover different depths with sharp rod movements and controlled drops.
